I noticed that I completely have left out any commentary on the ACL Television Broadcasts on PBS. Here’s a rough schedule of the rest of this season, but sometimes the days are off depending on what your local station is. You can look up your local show time at this page of ACL’s website. At the top you’ll find a popup link for local showtimes. Personal highlights for me are Ryan Adams, Widespread Panic, Wilco & Bright Eyes, Trey Anastasio, Jack Johnson & Rilo Kiley, and Spoon. I love all of the rest, also, but everybody’s got their favorites, eh?

Restless sonic chameleons the Fiery Furnaces revolve around the brother and sister duo of Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger, whose prickly childhood relationship and musical family set the stage for their playful, unpredictable music. The pair mixes simple, poppy melodies with a dizzying array of wordplay, sounds, and influences, including the Who, Captain Beefheart, Os Mutantes; dashes of folk, blues, and garage rock. The Furnaces have toured with The French Kicks, Sleater-Kinney, Spoon, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Franz Ferdinand, and The Shins.
Check out Angry Robot.net’s list of South By Southwest artists that you can actually read. They’re some good stuff in there that noone saw because of the moron who does their web design. Jeeez, come on now.
