Ha it was a good discussion, keep coming back. I'd love more vocal commenters on here, like Justin gets at LiveMusicBlog.com.

Good choice on the Talking Heads track. I always think of that one as Tom Tom Club so I forgot it is "Genius of Love." I agree, they are "beautiful, random, funky, genius, and perfect." That's a great description in fact. In my top 5, The Grateful Dead, Talking Heads for sure. The other spots could be widely varied, but include Phish and Sublime, Wilco is definitely in there somewhere.

As far as favorite Talking Head's Stop Making Sense tracks: "Heaven," "Once In A Lifetime," but "This Must Be The Place (N. M.)" takes the cake as my absolute favorite for the band.

Because I loved the discussion last night I am back for more. I plan on making a post tomorrow about my own happiest (and saddest) songs for Valentine's Day. In my list is Talking Heads version of Genius of Love from Stop Making Sense. Other lovelies from that album: I can't get enough of Swamp, Girlfriend Is Better, or Slippery People. I love the craziness of the Talking Heads from the steel drums in Uh-Oh Love Comes to Town to the "I've got a girlfriend with bows in her hair, and nothing is better than that" in Girlfriend Is Better they are exceedingly beautiful, random, funky, genius, and perfect. Talking Heads are a top 5 in my book. For the record my top 5 consists of: The Grateful Dead, The Band, R.E.M., Talking Heads, and Wilco/Allman Brothers/Widespread Panic depending on what kind of mood I'm in.
