Got something special for you all today. Just in case you missed it over at Aquarium Drunkard last week, I scrounged up another copy of Ryan Adams’ Destroyer(info). My favorite new track from this album so far is “The Poison & The Pain,” which has never been officially released live or in studio, like a number of these tracks. Also, check out the energy on “Time (The Revelator).” That intro is incredible.

192 Kb Stereo sound, and they sound beautiful. Here’s the track listing.

NOTE: I am not the one hosting these files, nor am I a fan of cease and desist letters. Just so you know.  Upon further review of current news, I’m not going to link directly to these files any longer, but rather direct you to the BigO page where you can find them.

  1. Born Yesterday – info.
  2. Dreaming’s Free (aka I’m Alright Today) – info.
  3. The Poison & The Pain – info.
  4. No Disguise – info.
  5. Rainy Days – info.
  6. Statuette With Wounds – info.
  7. String and The Wire – info.
  8. Hey There, Mrs. Lovely – info.
  9. Nighttime Gals – info.
  10. In My Time Of Need (Later on Heartbreaker) – info.
  11. Bartering Lines (Later on Heartbreaker) – info.
  12. Memories of You (First Attempt) – info.
  13. Memories of You – info.
  14. Time (The Revelator) – info.

The track listings differ from some other versions I’ve seen, mostly the track 12 is not included or track 14 is simply titled “The Revelator.” Take your pics, I’m just going from my source, which happens to be:

This copy of the album was uploaded and provided by BigO Worldwide. Find the article here.

Some more album art, this was the one Aquarium Drunkard had posted:

Good for you for being aware of the perils out there. I’m not a big fan of “cease and desist” letters either. I see both sides of the issue, but the labels have been SO resistant to the internet and blogs in the past, and the internet just went beyond them while they stuck their heads in the sand. I don’t know the answer, really. But I know for me personally, I’m more likely to go buy a CD on CD Baby or whatever, if I can hear a “taste” of what I’m buying, before I shell out that $15 for it. And in the case of major labels it seems to be more like $20 for crap I can’t readily hear unless I’ m in a store.
So to me…they bring a lot of this on themselves. The artists deserve to be paid, no doubt, but it does seem to me that we deserve to see (hear) what we’re buying in some fashion before we shell out that money that can’t be returned.
An old guys perspective I guess, but I think the blogs and websites have a lot to offer, to offset what the big labels have just ruined.
peace
dad.
