This is just a quick track post. I got a Backyard Tire Fire Mailing List update today, and it included an mp3 of a sweet cover of “F The CC” by Steve Earle. Here it is along with what info they gave in the email:
Backyard Tire Fire – “F The CC” (Steve Earle Cover)
“For our live newsletter track we have a version of Steve Earle’s: “F The CC.” The song was performed at the Mad Hatter in Covington, KY in February, the sound quality is a little low, so you’ll need to crank this one, the way it should be played. As always, feel free to pass the track onto your friends.”
You can view the actual email update here.
Backyard Tire Fire will be one of the many artists featured here on BurningOak.com before Summer Camp Music Festival this May, but we’ll do a proper introduction to them here on the site later on. I happened to just want to pass this song on to you today.

Welcome back from camping, dude. Are you hitting the BTF show at Schubas on 4/1? They’re filming a DVD that night. I want to go, I think…maybe…
Thanks, I have checked out some Backyard Tire Fire and have liked what I’ve heard. And I love Steve Earle and consider him one of the best songwriters out there, but personally, this song disappoints me. I think he could have written a better song without being so direct about his hatred of the FCC. Same with his song Condi Condi. I think both songs are immature and sophomoric. Steve can do better. But thanks for sharing the BTF version.
