Well, to my knowledge, the Lee Boys are the only self-proclaimed “African-American Sacred Steel Artist” on Summer Camp’s menu for 2006. Like I said, this is only going off of what I know. Anyways, they’re Summer Camp Artist #34, and they’ve got an interesting approach to your typical church tunes. All born and raised as part of the House Of God churches in Florida, the Lee Boys are the fourth generation to be involved in the church’s tradition of steel guitar music. Anyways, check out their website and their bio for more information on all that, in the meantime check out these tracks from the band. Also Say Yes is available now at CDBaby.com.
From 2005′s Say Yes:
Lee Boys – If You’re Happy And You Know It
Lee Boys – Say Yes
Lee Boys – Joyful Sounds
Lee Boys – Tribute to Calvin Cooke

christian band at summer camp? they’re all right, but i think they need more of that loud gospel music feel (you know, with everyone yelling like crazy and a whole lot of dangerous clapping). at least i feel better knowing jesus will be with you guys down in chillicothe. anyways, maybe you could post some indian music videos just because i love them (they will make you cry with laughter). not that i’m making demands or anything, just suggesting. if you think indian food is bad, you haven’t seen nothing yet my friend
(p.s. excuse the racist remarks. i waited at an indian wedding today, and few things come closer to pure pain)
