thanks to you i am now a big trampled by turtles fan. i owe you the discovery of a song that finds my happiness, "whiskey." many songs bring happiness of course, but adding to the count can only help. the rational way to pay back for one song is with another song (or beer). since i don't plan to fedex any beers, i think you should instead listen to "wagon wheel" by old crow medicine show (if you haven't already, that is). i kept it in the bluegrass category. as we all know, a good song is like a good woman- a feeling of infinity in this finite world. yes, that is deep and probably overly corny, but i felt philosophical and it had to be said

-Sweeps, I go into my favorite shows in a little more detail in my next review, which I just finished last night (3000 words). However, I can easily pinpoint my favorite four shows for you.

Phil Lesh & Friends - More info on why I loved it in the review, but Phil was the best large act there this weekend I think and really brought it home.

Green Lemon - Small, Fargo, ND, band who played on the Saloon Stage during the Friday late-nights. Doubt you'll find a recording but check out GreenLemonBand.com and listen to "Flight Of Manwe." These guys are very electronic, so if you're into that you'll like 'em.

Great American Taxi - This is Vince Herman's new gig, he was the frontman for Leftover Salmon. Anyways, Vince Herman, as you'll soon read, is one of the best entertainers I've ever seen on a stage. He makes every concert into a show/standupcomedy/party. Bluegrassy at times, mostly just jammin' to solid covers and funny tunes though.

Public Property - They're an 8-piece all-white reggae band from Iowa. That said, they are awesome, not too mention they have three of the most beautiful singer/dancers ever providing secondary vocals. The show they put on is really unique, something you have to experience. Also, their last album What's Goin' On, is well worth the money spent, great stuff.

Sadly, the only one I expect to find for download is Phil Lesh (which is already up on archive.org). As far as downloads from the weekend, check out SCI's headlining show, and Cornmeal is a good, small, bluegrassy act I'd recommend.

UPDATE: Hot Buttered Rum just showed up on Archive, check the download's page. Woo Hoo!

Actually the New Primitives played on the field stage, but i still doubt that anyone recorded it. I am keeping optimistic however because i had never heard of these guys either until 10 k and they literally blew my head off.

I also hope that the keller williams show gets posted soon, as well as the wood brothers.

Also, if anyone finds my head, just leave it in detroit lakes & I'll pick it up next year!

ok Kane, I forgive you, haha! Can't wait to check out those reviews:)

I don't really have the time like I used to, to download and listen to all the shows, so I rely heavily on reviews from people like you!

BTW, if you were to choose your top three shows at 10KLF, which ones would you choose? I'm asking, because I'd love to download the highlights, avoiding having to "sift" through the mediocre shows;)

For sure Matt, great times chilling with you guys this weekend.

- Sweep, my Friday review is over 2200 words at this point, and I've still got a little bit left to cover of the late-nights. It should be uploaded to LiveMusicBlog.com sometime tomorrow, and includes links to some pictures as well as audio samples for all of Phil Lesh's set. Also my travelling partner John will have his Thursday review up tomorrow as well.

- Brandon, I've never heard much of the New Primitives, any recommendations? I'll keep an eye out for their set for sure, but I don't expect a lot from the bands that played on Wednesday or the Saloon Stage, there just wasn't many tapers inside the building.

Also, GRAB and Phil Lesh have been added to the 10KLF Downloads page, make sure you're sending your other friends this way too for the listings. Thanks, peace everyone.
