I’ve been rather useless in the posting department as of late, but after a somewhat inspirational email from Jennifer F. (she basically just flattered me into posting) I decided to share a band I’ve been listening to quite a bit lately.
Hotel Ahead is a four-piece out of Villa Park, IL, in the Chicago suburbs. It just so happens that their drummer, Jon, is a student alongside myself at the University of Illinois down here in Champaign. I’ve had a chance to listen to their Maps Away EP the last couple weeks and they deserve some solid playtime here. My favorite is the second track, “It’s The One Thing.” I think it’s a great indicator of the guys’ potential, and it’s a good showcase for the band’s vocals. The rest of the tracks are all good, but I like them all pretty equally, so here’s “I’m Not Your Man.”

About time you picked up the slack…you slacker. I’m dying to hear some new tunes. What are you doing? Studying or something? Geez.
These guys I like. Of course I’m not a critic or anything. I just want to hear new things that I can relate to. These guys have that. Gee, I think I’ll go befriend them on myspace. I have 32 friends now or something like that. Ha.
