man i was in tough shape that whole weekend haha. Vince didn't walk off because of the sound, the power went out , something shorted or got disconnected and the PA system shut down, that's why he left stage, it took awhile to fiix and by the time they did get it running again there wasn't a great deal of time left so he played short. I talked to Vince when he showed up in the afternoon he had a bad cold and was feeling like shit so he was probaably relieved to get a little break.
yeh there were some weird folks and situations, but 10 times as many good vibes and good kids.
the Solstice Fest there was fun too, less people and a better community vibe.

Yeah, you'd really be surprised how beautiful Southern Illinois can be. Definitely worth the short drive for some pretty awesome camping/hiking. If you do ever make the trip down, though, I recommend stopping at some of the local wineries that are surprisingly popular down there. And if you're into trail running, there are some pretty sweet races in that region over the summer and early fall. Okay, now that Frommer's scared for his job, I'll stop.

But, Kane's right. Not your typical hippies last weekend. Less of a Kumbaya feeling, that's for sure. In fact, it confirmed the 4/20 post that there is a clear distinction between hippies and stoners. I have a feeling more people were down there to celebrate the 4/20 weekend amongst fellow druggies than for the actual music. Bad vibes, bad vibes...

Oh, and Kane, good post. And thanks for a great bday weekend.

1,000,000 years? But the bible says earth is only a few thousand years old, how can that be?

(sarcasm)

Joking aside, that looks like a fantastic place. If I'm ever near Murphysboro, IL I'll be sure to check it out.
